The Black Heritage Railway Project celebrated the untold stories and contributions of Black railway workers across from Reading past and present. The project seeks to honour the legacy of those who helped shape the nation’s transport history, many of whom migrated from the Caribbean and Africa during the Windrush era. Through community storytelling, archival research, and creative expression, the project brings visibility to their resilience, skill, and impact, ensuring their voices are heard and preserved. By connecting history with identity and belonging, the Black Heritage Railway Project not only educates but also inspires reminding us that progress is built on the strength and unity of many hands, tracks, and journeys.
